Safety Education

You are never too young or too old to learn about energy usage and the environment. With this in mind, HG&E has developed educational programs to benefit the whole community.

Construction Updates

Holyoke Gas & Electric is consistently making improvements to the current utility infrastructure and, as the city grows, building new services. In an effort to make the community aware of HG&E's construction activities, we will provide construction and dig safe updates.

Fiber Internet

Each day tens of thousands of computers connect to the HGE.net network for internet access. Through our advanced communications network, we provide reliable, affordable, internet and voice services to businesses. Outage Center

HG&E's Outage Center provides general information regarding the overall electric outage level within our territory. The information displayed provides a snapshot of known outages. You can also find tips that will help you and your family prepare for an unexpected electric outage.

The Fishway

Each spring when the shadbush blooms, American Shad, Sea Lamprey, Atlantic Salmon and other anadromous fish swim up the Connecticut River as they begin their annual spring migration. The fishlift at HG&E’s Robert E. Barrett Fishway helps migrating fish over the dam.

Local, Public Power

HG&E is a municipal utility, which means that we are not-for-profit and owned by the community we serve. Unlike private utilities, we do not answer to shareholders thousands of miles away. Instead, we answer to you, our ratepayer.
